Camp Davern is excited to welcome campers from across the globe!
Camp Davern is an amazing traditional overnight summer camp experience for kids from all over the world. As a result of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we place special focus in ensuring campers arriving from out of country are welcomed at the airport by our friendly staff team and are returned to the airport, checked in and supported on their departure day. We realize how important clear communication, safety and support is for our international families and as a result we offer full service support to make sure the entire experience is nothing less then incredible.
As a community camp, the stuff we have and things we do are terrific, but at our core, it’s the friendships and connections that are developed at Davern that will resonate with your child. At Camp Davern we spend extra focus to ensure we are supporting diversity within cabins. All programs offered at Davern are instructed in English however we are proud of our multilingual staff team.
At Davern, we are proud of our site, impressed with our equipment and over the moon about our leadership. All these things combined, we ensure the camper experience is rich with integrity.
The fees listed below are for all campers registering who reside out of country. These fees are inclusive of camp transportation to and from camp, communications home, optional shopping and exploring day trip, as well as access to our International Ambassador, who will check in with campers regularly to ensure they are supported in the new culture.

Programs are optional activities that can be added to some two week and month long summer overnight camp sessions. Often focused on leadership or the mastery of certain skills, programs offer campers opportunities to concentrate on special life skills for specific periods during any given day. Since they are very popular and program enrollment is limited, we strongly encourage you to enroll early by checking off the appropriate program enrollment box in the camp registration form. Currently, the following programs are offered at Camp Davern:
At Davern, we think the transition from grade 7 to 8 is a big one. As a result, we’ve developed the Leaders of Tomorrow program. Focusing on the leadership of decision making and discovering the benefits of positive leadership and role modeling, we work with tomorrow’s leaders to help shape their ethical compass. This two-week leadership program runs parallel to camper sessions. Adding onto the already terrific camper experience, LOT Candidates give up one of their elective periods to take part in a 12 days of leadership sessions. In addition, the group participates in a three night camping trip emphasizing shared leadership principles.
The CIT program is a four-week adventure that focuses on the hard skills of the camp experience. Candidates work to achieve certifications in swimming (Bronze Med and Cross), as well as training in canoeing, team building, outdoor living skills and camping. Candidates also take part in some of the elective options available to all campers. A highlight of the month program is the 7 night Algonquin Out-trip that is both challenging for the kids and memorable. The program strives to encourage each candidate to shine, building character, self esteem, patience and empathy.
The JVC program builds upon the CIT program as candidates work on the development of their softer skills of leadership success. Taking motivation from their “Leaders from Within”, the JVC program pairs candidates with staff members and provides an opportunity to mix youth engagement with leadership training. In addition to leadership sessions daily, JVC will work towards achieving their Standard First Aid and level “C” CPR with Red Cross and the National Lifeguard Level with the Life Saving Society. These certifications will not only help them in the future but also support their applications to be staff at Davern.
