The health and well-being of our campers is important while at camp. At Davern, guided by the Ontario Food Guide (OFG), we focus on balanced nutrition, exercise and healthy eating. We know that balanced diet for our campers will result in a more energetic, healthier and happier children day in and day out! We also do out best to source locally with Ontario Farmers.

We know that balanced diet for our campers will result in a more energetic, healthier and happier children day in and day out! We also do out best to source locally with Ontario Farmers.

Our balanced and child friendly meals ensure variety and include fruit, vegetables and healthy alternatives.
Breakfast
The first meal of the day is an important one. That’s why it is served as two courses! The camp begins the meal with cold cereal before moving to our hot meals which may include eggs, pancakes, waffles, bagels, fresh cut fruit or french toast.
Lunch
Lunch is a kid friendly meal that is both nutritious and popular. Examples of lunches include: make your own sandwich, chicken caesar wraps, chicken pie, pizza and tuna melts.
Dinner
Dinner is a great time for everybody to get together, talk about their day and have a hearty and healthy meal and “refuel”. Dinners include: lasagna, shepherds pie, BBQ, freshi bowls and taco’s (to name a few).

Special Dietary Requirements

Camp Davern strives to support special diets where possible. We offer vegetarian options to campers and are open to discussing dietary needs on a case by case basis.

Fitness is Fun

Consistent with our focus on healthy lifestyle, Davern offers campers program opportunities each day to take part in fitness and exercise. We offer program engagement in Yoga, Zumba and boot Camp. In addition to these active programs, Davern also offers our early risers the opportunity to join our camp running club.
